Leave a message at the beep!

iMessage-IconSo you say “these days it’s hard not to be bombarded by calls from friends and family you don’t want to talk to,” or “those silly texts they send you while you’re busy doing something important.” What I hate most, is when friends text me where they are, or what they are doing now. Heck, I don’t need to know where you are, or what you’re doing right now. It’s not like I am Houston and you’re Apollo 13, stranded in the cosmos. And even if you were, Houston’s out for coffee, so Apollo get back to me later.

But, you truly have to admit, mobile phones do have their pluses. For example, quick, last-minute arrangements, a romantic text which you saved from your lovebird, that moment you realise vibrate is a much better setting than sound. Or even that funny link your friend sent you about that Chimp, sniffing his finger after a long, hard scrub between his gluts. Let’s face it mobile phones are the new social media, and if used responsibly, are a good way to connect with people, or even just liven that special someone’s day.

What I recommend is to do your research. That is to say check online to see what promotions certain phone companies have. A good site is www.a1comms.co.uk where they have a plethora of information on mobile phone devices and services. Special offers such as free tethering, voicemail, phone replacements, conference calling, customer service, data, landline calls and of course texts.

Each mobile phone and service provider are treated as equals and the site is very informative. Some products include:

  • Apple
  • Samsung
  • Sony
  • Blackberry
  • HTC
  • Nokia
  • LG
  • Motorola

As for network listings, companies such as:

  • EE
  • Orange
  • T-Mobile
  • O2
  • Vodafone

When I went on the site, I was very much satisfied with another feature; They directly work with each company to find you savings and offers on each product or service, that is to say they cut the middle man out. They are in the business of saving you money as well as saving you time and stress.

Also keep in mind when you buy a phone and or service provider, to read the fine print, as well as, if the product is right for you. If you are a crazy texter, simple things like keyboard size are important, or how much each text message may cost? If you are a follower of facebook or twitter, if the mobile phone you want have these options? Can you listen to music on your phone with headphones? If you are a movie fan or gamer does this mobile have that feature? As for networks, please know that some networks have a better promotions to suit your lifestyle. If you are a traveler, or do a lot of work overseas see about what your mobile phone, and provider can do for you. And finally, remember to always turn off your mobile when you’re at a restaurant or show.
