Can’t Wait for the iOS 6?
Before you go on to sell your old smartphone, check first if your version is still included in the upcoming release of the new iOS 6. Not all Apple devices are included in this upgrade such as the first generation iPad. The iPad 2 and new iPad as well as iPhone 3GS and above are the only ones who can support the new iOS 6. That means that of you still have the first generation of the Apple tablet PC, you might as well sell your iPad or iPhone and upgrade ASAP.
There has been a lot of excitement over the release of the iOS 6. Those who were given beta versions to try out are quite lucky as they are already enjoying the newest operating system from Apple. As for the rest of us, we have to wait a few more months before the free upgrade becomes available to the public. So far, there have been a lot of praises for the new operating system from Apple.
There are a lot of new things to look forward to with the release of the iOS 6. For starters, they have revamped the maps application and replaced it with their own. The view is like a combination of a standalone Sat Nav and Google Earth, which make it really impressive. Also included is a lot of useful information like restaurants, landmarks, and public services which makes this app more useful than carrying an actual map. This may be something that Apple felt they needed to beef up, since it has taken out Google Maps as a pre-installed feature in the latest iOS. So far, those who have gotten used to Google Maps are resistant to any change Apple brings, but Apple loyalists will always give this new map app a try.
The iOS 6 also lets you use Facetime over 3G networks, a great convenience as you do not need to look for a Wi-Fi hotspot to be able to have video chats with your loved ones. Another great feature is the Do Not Disturb feature, which allows you to ignore calls, messages and notifications. This is great for those who want to use their iPads as a productivity tool, as they won’t be disrupted from their work. For those who love using social media, the iOS 6 has Facebook integration, which will allow you to post pictures and update status directly from your notification center. This is definitely a welcome feature for those who are addicted to posting status updates in real time!
These are just some of the featured highlights of the soon to be released iOS 6. You are probably all excited to get a copy and install it on your device. If you have an old unit, it is best to sell cell phones for cash now and get a new one to enjoy the new iOS 6. After all, before you know it, the month of August will be over and the Apple announcement will be sooner than you think.
